The NYS Dept. of Labor has information about unemployment insurance - temporary income for eligible workers who become unemployed through no fault of their own and who are ready, willing, and able to work.
HRA Job Centers
Visitors to the Human Resources Administration's Job Centers receive help finding alternatives to welfare; have on-site access to job search and placement services, childcare information, vocational, educational and training services; and can receive referrals for Medicaid, Food Stamp, and other emergency assistance benefits.
