Guins Welcome Nearly 20 Major League Scouts at Annual Pro Day

Youngstown -- The Youngstown State baseball team welcomed talent scouts from nearly 20 Major League Baseball organizations on Wednesday at its annual pro day.
The Penguins showcased their talents under the lights for about two hours at Eastwood Field. According to head coach Rich Pasquale, several players really caught the eye of several scouts.

Youngstown -- The Youngstown State baseball program has 10 new student-athletes and a new locker room for the 2009-10 academic year, both which has head coach Rich Pasquale excited for the future.
The Penguins welcomed the 10 talented newcomers to a squad that already features seven returning starters to the line-up and all three of its weekend starters.

Photos Dan Lipari Added to Baseball Staff as Volunteer Assistant

Youngstown -- Dan Lipari has joined the Youngstown State baseball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant, head coach Rich Pasquale announced.
Lipari comes to YSU with plenty accomplishments and experience on the diamond. His duties at YSU will consist of assisting with the pitching staff, daily operations of the program, and the Youngstown State Baseball School.
Release Swenson, Klein Pitch in Summer League All-Star Games

Youngstown -- Youngstown State pitchers Aaron Swenson and Phil Klein both enjoyed a recent spot on the all-star team in their respective summer leagues.
Swenson, a senior-to-be for the Penguins, was chosen as the Valley League's starting pitcher in the first-ever Mid-Atlantic Summer Classic. Klein was named to the Great Lakes League Red All-Star Team.
